What is a course pouch and what does it include?
Pouches are bundles of customizable lessons you can purchase and take on our platform. Each lesson one is a 1-on-1 personalized tutoring session with a professional tutor, which comes with a topic sheet and a detailed feedback form after the lesson. Lessons can be scheduled for any day of the week, including weekends! So right now, don't worry about curriculum or tutors (we have all the tools help you with that later). The important thing is to think about the total number of lessons you wish to take and decide on the right course pouch for you.
Which course pouch is best for me?
We highly recommend checking out the “Core” pouch offerings. A Core pouch gives you access to all of our level 1-6 curriculum, along with special courses focusing on alphabet, pronunciation, and even business Korean. Our data shows that most students can experience substantial improvements in their conversational fluency after taking 20 lessons, regardless of where they begin. So if you are a serious learner and want to jump up levels quickly, we recommend the "Double Pouch" or "Jumbo Pouch" that give you more discounts and longer expiration period. For those who are not yet ready to commit long-term, the “Trial” pouch offerings are for you.
What do I do after I buy a course pouch?
The next step is to browse and add the course(s) you wish to learn to the pouch you just bought. You can do this very easily on the “Courses” on your dashboard once you login. For example, if you are a beginner who just bought a 8-lesson "Full Pouch", then you can add the “Level 1: Introduction to Speaking Korean” course to your pouch. If you'd like, you can even mix and match add any number of lessons from each course. Once your course pouch is full, you will be able to schedule your lessons, select your tutor, and choose your preferred topics. (Note: There are some differences in the range of courses offered under each category “Core”, “Trial”, “Mini”, “Test-Prep”)
How do I know which course level to add?
Once you make an account and go to your dashboard, you can take a level test on the Courses tab. There are also sample lessons and syllabi that you can view for each course before adding to your pouch. After trying out a lesson and you feel like the level is too easy or difficult, you can simply switch the level on the Courses tab. If you want to sign up for a free consultation, click “Book a Consultation” on our website footer. Our friendly staff will answer all of your questions and help you select the best course for you.
Is there a set schedule for taking lessons?
There is no set schedule and you can schedule lessons any time you want! We recommend that you take lessons at least twice a week and consistently, and for your convenience, we have noted our suggested pace for each pouch. Typically, students see improvements in as short as a month of regular learning. Please note that there are expiration dates to the pouches you purchase, so you must take the lessons within that time. We have a 48-hour buffer for scheduling to give tutors enough time to prepare for lessons, so the earliest lessons you can book are two days from now.
